Coldplay Raise $800,000 For Charity From Auction

Coldplay sold off a number of pieces created by Paris, the band’s artist in residence, for their last album, Mylo Xyloto. The pieces collectively raised $800,000 on the auction block.

The highest bidded item, a large graffiti covered wall featured on the cover of the album, was sold to “an anonymous bidder from the Far East” for $653,000, according to OK! magazine.

Other items up for grabs included photographs from the group’s world tour and autographed copies of Mylo Xyloto artwork, all of which pulled in about $176,000. Funds raised from the auction will benefit the Kids Company charity.
