Today has been something of a music geek out day with a marching band tribute to video games and sci-fi movie music remix dedicated to the future. And I don’t see any reason to stop the fun now! Watch the new music video from Coldplay with a nod to comic book culture.
The latest music video for Coldplay’s song “Hurts Like Heaven” was directed by Mark Osborne with illustrations by Alejandro Fuentes. And while I may be a bit biased due to my absolute passion and love for comic books beginning at the tender age of three, I totally dig it. Way to go, Coldplay! I can definitely see some big things in your music future… oh, wait, I guess that’s already kind of happened. But still, great job with this latest work of yours! After postponing their February visit to Australia, Coldplay have sorted their “personal reasons” and planned a full tour Down Under this November.
Although tour dates and venues won’t be announced until next month, the UK band’s Chris Martin and Jonny Buckland appeared on Channel 7’s Sunrise this morning to reveal the outdoor arena tour.
“Well yeah I’m sorry about that I got sick in January-Feb, now I feel bad,” Martin joked. “But we are, we’re coming on tour, like proper.”
Martin has also said they haven’t “finalised the Australia-specific sections of the show” but told news.com.au they will have the crowds sporting LED wristbands to create a light show that will be controlled by the band.
“It’s a little self-indulgent on our part but we love the way it looks when thousands of people all have lights on them,” he said. [Source]
